The non-profit organisation Association for Environment and Development / Projetkwerkstatt was founded in 1993 and is active in the area of integration and media work. It is part of European networks (e.g. NILE-Network) and has successfully carried out the EU project IMES (Grundtvig 1). The main focus of its activities is education and includes topics like intercultural and non-discriminatory work, migration, development policy, environment and media. Persons of all ages, sexes, social and cultural backgrounds take part in the projects.
The NGO is demonstrating the crossroads and interrelated effects of media, development and migration. With relation to that, the NGO wants to show common interests and tries to bring forward the co-operation of other NGOs in this sector. As an indicator of its success the NGO has set itself the target to include migrants and migrant organisations in all of their activities. The NGO has extensive experiences in the training of Internet-pilots. They are mediators in a local network of Internet and computer access points in associations and public places. Main target group of the network are migrants who can learn how to use new media (Internet, computer etc).
DGB Bildungswerk acts as the national training institute of the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB). DGB Bildungswerk consists of the headquarters in Düsseldorf as well as 5 educational centres in Germany. The “Migration and Qualification“department works within the educational institution of the Federation of German Works Committees. It offers information and organizes seminars and conferences for multipliers and migrants in the field of migration politics fighting for the equality of opportunity of migrants. The company organises events, seminars and publications concerning migration, integration, participation, anti-racism, anti-discrimination, German and European migration law and other topics concerning migration politics. In this regard they maintain their own website, the information platform www.migration-online, with discussion forum, E-Mail Newsletter etc. Also the DGB Bildungswerk has experiences in the field of e-learning.
The goal of the Stiftung Digitale Chancen (Digital Opportunities Foundation) is to make people interested in the Internet and to support them with their steps into the digital world. We want them to become aware of the opportunities this digital medium offers and to make use of them. Stiftung Digitale Chancen was founded in January 2002 in Berlin by AOL Germany and the University of Bremen. Co-founders are Accenture and the Burda Foundation. The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth have taken on the patronage.

eduate.eu was an independent, non-profit consultant company focusing on the development of customised education projects for organizations, companies and private individuals in order to train, to provide freely available learning resources by using technology and to build networks for social inclusion and skills development. It was integrated into cocoate.com in dec 2009. The domain name is now used for this platform.
