The Institute for Prospective Technological Studies - European Commission

The Institute for Prospective Technological Studies, based in Seville (Spain), is one of seven European Commission research institutes, making up the Directorate General Joint Research Centre (DG JRC). The mission of the Information Society Unit (IS Unit) at the IPTS is to offer support in the process of policy formulation by interpreting the socio-economic implications of emerging Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) and alerting the Commission services and Community institutions. In particular, the eApplications Action addresses key IS applications that are relevant to the Lisbon objectives: eGovernment, eHealth, eLearning and eInclusion. In 2008, IPTS will carry on a major cross-country study and two more specific ones on the potential of ICT for the promotion of cultural diversity in Europe.

Laboratori de Mitjans Interactius- Universitat de Barcelona

Within the University of Barcelona, the LMI, Interactive Media Laboratory, was created at the Pedagogy Faculty in 1988 as "Interactive Video Centre" and since then has been working in several national and European projects, most of them as a co-ordinator as well as in contracts with companies developing multimedia programmes, mainly for educational purposes.
Its three main competences are:
- e-Learning environments, courses and materials design
- Digital video supported web environments development
- Media literacy at excluded groups

Fundación Privada Ciudad de Viladecans

Fundación Ciudad de Viladecans is a private Foundation that works with local authorities in the metropolitan area of Barcelona. It aims at promoting the development of the information society for all at local level. It has 10 years expertise in training on ICT skills with disadvantaged groups. It has coordinated a European project eMigra (elearning), a study on digital literacy projects and einclusion initiatives with migrants. It is currently completing the coordination of a Grundtvig project on non discriminative access to public internet centres and adult education. It runs the cities portal of the civil society of Viladecans and is currently working on the development of a specific internet portal targeting the local integration of new immigrants in Viladecans (65 000 inhabitants).

FETE-UGT is a sectorial federation of the General Union of Workers ( U.G.T). FETE-UGT is a member of the Education International (EI), of the European Trade Union Committee for Educational ( ETUCE) FETE-UGT has a collaboration agreement with the Educational and Science Department and with the Educational Department of the different Autonomous Region. FETE participates in all the educational subsectors. FETE-UGT runs a resources web portal “Aula Intercultural” (www.aulaintercultural.org )for the inter cultural education; this project has an institutional support of the Secretary of Immigration and Emigration (Labour Department) and the Research and Educative Documentation Centre ( Educational Department)

Fundacion INTRAS

Intras is a non-profit private institution fouded in August 1994.
Nowadays, it is composed by 8 centres in 3 different provinces in Spain where 63 professionals, mainly in Psychiatry, Psychology and Economy, combine research, training and assistance.
The aim is to improve the quality of life of people who suffer from mental disorders, people with disabilities and the elderly, by providing social and sanitary assistance and promoting research, development and innovation in the field of mental health and other disabilities.
Intras cooperate with numerous international organizations, institutions and universities, both in Europe and Latin America, which address people with mental health problems or social excluded groups in general.
