Developing Potential

Telenovel

Framework:
Grundtvig
2008-11 - 2010-07

The project will encourage senior citizens to reactivate themselves in the lifelong learning process. Elderly people are usually not willing to take part in learning any longer, but they do like watching TV, especially telenovels. We want to use TV shows and telenovel as a tool to learn Spanish language by creating our own multicultural telenovel.

cross cooking & learning

Framework:
Grundtvig
2006-01 - 2008-07

The 2-years learning partnership aimed to rediscover and preserve traditions in cooking across Europe, enhancing the possibilities of learning and cross-generational cohesion. Institutions from five European countries built intergenerational peer groups to enable greater integration and learning so that younger people learn to cook by working with the older people in the rural communities and, in turn, help these develop and record the food preparation, cooking and festivities.

Greenlight

Framework:
Grundtvig
2008-11 - 2010-10

The project aims to build capacity of a range of people, socially and economically disadvantaged, that have suffered loss of self esteem and self worth and are increasingly in danger of isolation even within their own societies.

These widely varying situations include marginalised young and older people and (for one partner) migrants and (in another partner) increasing migrancy. The project uses a varied, innovative, creative approach which will involve the participants, in some instances working across generations, in controlling the process by researching, developing, managing and evaluating an activity which has the potential for observable public benefit.
